Partnership encourages support of small businesses, promotes AEDC

The past couple of months have been a tough row to hoe for local retail businesses—many of which have been shut down for a time due to virus-related dictates.

Typical revenue streams that flow into those businesses haven’t been there.

And when retail suffers or lessens, a trickle effect can occur with landing industry that creates primary employment positions—a direct goal and ambition of the Andrews Economic Development Corporation.

It all goes hand in hand, city officials have said.

County’s virus numbers reveal signs of optimism

The city’s virus statistics revealed some positive signs over the past few days.

Not “positive” as in test results, but more on the lines of optimism, according to official reports.

The health department reported that four more with COVID-19 recovered, leaving just two active cases in Andrews County.

There have been a total of 27 cases here, and 25 have been cleared.

The county also appears to have increased testing in the last couple of weeks, according to the health department’s numbers.
