Wednesday was a milestone day for Permian Residential Care Center resident Martha Jean Patterson. Patterson, a longtime Andrews resident, celebrated her 90th birthday on July 15. She was born in 1930 and later moved to Andrews in 1955. In Andrews, Patterson worked at Baker’s Shoe Store for 25 years, was a faithful churchgoer and volunteered with the local Food Pantry. Patterson raised four daughters, including Glenda Ivy, Charlene Pollet, Martha Jenkins and Lou Ella Goff. She has nine grandchildren, 26 greatgrandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
