It’s very rare to hear of an Andrews Middle School basketball team go undefeated, but if losing one in 15 games is close to perfection – the Andrews Mustangs 8 ‘B’ round-ballers did the trick. AMS Coach Mark Bairrington’s boys topped Greenwood, 43-26, in their season finale to post an eye-popping 14-wins and 1-loss record.
The Andrews Mustangs 8 “A’ basketball boys blanked the Greenwood Rangers in the first quarter, 13-0, on their way to a 36-17 victory in their final game of the season.
A basketball season of ups and downs came to an end for the Andrews Lady Mustangs Thursday in the bi-district round with a 43-33 loss to a San Elizario Lady Eagles team sporting two girls over 6’1”.
There is one team that is head and shoulders above the rest in 2-4A boys’ basketball – that is Seminole. The second-best team is the Greenwood Rangers.
