LOCAL STUDENTS NAMED TO PRESIDENT’S AND DEANS’ LISTS AT DRAKE UNIVERSITY

The following local students have been named to the Deans’ and President’s Lists at Drake University.

TSSEC Outstanding Soloist 2022

For the second consecutive year, Nicholas McArthur, son of Cody and Amy McArthur, was selected as Outstanding Performer at the 2022 UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Virtual Vocal Contest. Of the approximately 100,000 students participating in the regional UIL music contests and the thousands of musicians who performed at TSSEC, only 2% - 3% of the solo performances earned the distinguished honor of being recognized as an Outstanding Performer. This achievement is truly a mark of musical excellence. In recognition of this honor, Nicholas was awarded a gold medal - identical to those awarded to state champions in all UIL events.

Tijerina, son of Andrew and Tiffany Tijerina, was selected by the AHS faculty based on his dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism, which are the qualities needed to be selected by the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution.
