Individual gold medal wins by Landon Morales, Tommy Evans and Luciano Gomez plus 4x200 relay netted the Andrews Mustangs 8th boys track team 147 points but it was still not enough to beat Greenwood (157) for the district championships.

Pipes wins gold in 110 hurdles to lead pack of Mustangs advancing to regionals

Andrews hurdler Jonathon Pipes was the lone area track champion for the Mustang track team with a first in the 110 hurdles in a time of 14.54, plus he also qualified for regionals in the 300 hurdles with a third place time of 40.74, to lead Coach Joshua Kelley’s team at the 4A Area meet, hosted by AHS Thursday.

Diaz homers and pitches Mustangs to run-rule win over Pecos

The Andrews Mustangs’ bats were alive and loud Friday in their 20-10 run-rule win over Pecos in six innings to improve to 5-wins and 2-losses in district play. With three league games left to be played, Coach Robert Morris’ boys are in second place behind the undefeated Seminole Indians.
