After a couple months of consideration and a community survey regarding the issue, chickens inside the city limits won’t be allowed.
The prospect re-surfaced when a citizen approached the city council during a meeting last summer.
Council members have since looked into it, while the city even provided a survey that revealed slight support among participants that comprised about 10 percent of the city’s households.
An ordinance amendment appeared before the council Thursday, but it failed for lack of a second after a motion from longtime council member Pam Brownlee.
