With another solid sales tax rebate check to conclude the fiscal year, the city finished just shy of its best ever annual total.
The most recent check from the state comptroller’s office totaled around $697,000 to push Andrews past the $8 million figure for the third time.
The city amassed a grand total of $8.35 million this year for its second best year to date.
In 2014, the city generated $8.52 million for the highest total, while $8.24 million was collected in 2015.
