City announces its recent strategic changes with personnel organization

The City of Andrews announced several strategic personnel organizational changes Monday that include a new assistant city manager, according to Andrews City Manager Steve Eggleston.

Longtime public works director Scott Wallace is the new assistant city manager/public works director, Eggleston said.

The organizational changes also include the positions of assistant public works director (water and wastewater), assistant public works director (streets and sanitation), and superintendent of collections and distribution.

City’s sales tax continues to go over $600,000

The city’s string of consecutive sales tax rebate checks surpassing $600,000 continued this month, according to a report from the state comptroller’s office. The most recent rebate check—which is reflective of sales from two months previous—amounted to $662,355.

“This is the best March we’ve ever had,” Andrews City Manager Steve Eggleston said.

It is the fourth straight month the city eclipsed $600,000 in sales tax.
