Abby LeeAnn Mathison, a cherished mother, beloved wife, and creative spirit, passed away December 9, 2024, in Suwanee, Georgia, at the age of 45. Born on March 29, 1979, in Lubbock, Texas, Abby’s zest for life and her passion for art and design were evident from an early age.

The daughter of Gary and Pamela Bettis of Lampasas, Texas, Abby grew up surrounded by a loving family, including her maternal grandmother, Mary Ann Jordan of Cypress, Texas. Her childhood was filled with the joy and laughter of a closeknit family, which later grew to include her husband, Christopher Mathison, and their two adoring sons, Milo and Asher Mathison of Suwanee, Georgia. Abby was a source of strength and inspiration for her family, who will forever cherish her memory. Abby’s brother, Bradley Bettis, and his wife Nikki of Lampasas, Texas, remember her as a beacon of creativity and warmth, who always had time for her 15 nieces and nephews. Though she was preceded in death by her brother, Benjamin Bettis, and grandparents, W.G. and Jimmie Bettis and Jerry Jordan, her legacy of love and artistry continues to live on through her family.

A proud graduate of Texas Tech University, Abby earned her bachelor’s degree in interior design in 2002. Her education laid the foundation for a career that combined her eye for beauty with practical skills. As a gifted photographer and real estate agent, Abby had an exceptional ability to capture the essence of a home and the memories it held, helping countless families find their perfect space.

Abby’s interests went far beyond her professionallife.Shewasa loving mother who adored her children, pouring her heart and soul into their upbringing. Her passion for art was not only a career but a way of life. As a gifted artist, she found joy and solace in creating beautiful things, and her creative works were a testament to her passionate spirit.

Abby LeeAnn Mathison’s life was a beautiful composition, much like the art she loved to create. Her family, friends, and all who were touched by her presence will remember her as a woman who lived with intention, loved with her whole heart, and inspired others to see the world through a lens of beauty and possibility.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10:00AM, Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Brewer officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Andrews County North Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00PM8:00PM, Monday, December 16, 2024, at McNett Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.
