Bill B. Green, 84, of Andrews, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2019 in Amarillo, Texas.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 14, 2019 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brant O’Connor officiating. Interment will be private. Services are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home, Andrews, Texas. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 13, 2019 from 4 - 6 pm at the funeral home. Bill was born on November 20, 1934 in Bridgeport, Texas to Grady and Flossie Lee Denny Green. Bill graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a teaching degree in Industrial Arts. He also attended and received a master’s degree in industrial arts from the University of Northern Colorado at Greely, Colorado. Bill married Mary Nell “Mickey” Green on June 25, 1955 in Andrews, Texas. He taught Wood Shop and Metal Shop in Plains, Texas for 5 years, in Andrews, Texas for 31 years, Bill also taught tennis in Plains and Andrews. He loved fishing at Bridgeport and Amistad. He enjoyed fly fishing in the mountains of Colorado every summer since 1965, he always caught more than everyone else. Bill liked to play Golf, enjoyed carving and woodworking and played dominoes up to his last day & he whopped everybody! Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of almost 57 years, Mary Nell “Mickey” Green on April 3, 2012, and two sisters, Doris Hawkins and Margaret Taylor.
Bill is survived by two daughters, Cindy Guelker and husband Johnnie of Amarillo, Texas, Debbie Green of Amarillo, Texas, a son Billy Green of Andrews, Texas, a brother, Johnny Green and wife Yvonna of Visalia, California, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
