Billye Ruth (Phillips) Swanson-Fredericksburg, TX.

Billye Swanson, 82, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024, at her home in Fredericksburg, TX with family by her side. Billye was born to William (Phil) Mansel and Ruth Dellis Phillips on February 12, 1942, in Odessa, TX. She grew up in West Texas, graduating from Andrews High School in 1960.

Billye married Daniel Paul Swanson on November 5, 1966, in Amarillo, TX. Together, they traveled the country and the world following Billye and Dan’s respective careers in the United States Air Force, whereBillyewasastaffing specialist. Billye retired as a GS-12 Supervisory Staffing Specialist from Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, NM in 2004. Billye lived in the Alamogordo/High Rolls, NM area for 30+ years, where she and Dan were active members in the High Rolls Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

Billye is survived by her husband of 58 years, Daniel; her 2 daughters, Becky O’Brien of Austin, TX and Kristi Young (Russell) of Fredericksburg, TX; her brother, Joe Phillips (Kelly) of Midland, TX; grandchildren: Christopher Allen (Jamie) of Austin, TX, Stephanie Rauert (Mike) of Austin, TX, Taylor Rodgers (Faith) of Greenville, NC, Molly Stevens (Clay) of Fort Worth, TX, Megan Young-John (Philip) of Houston, TX, Ashleigh Dreyer (Austin) of Fredericksburg, TX, and Heather Young of Fredericksburg, TX; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Billye is preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Phillips, her son Danny Swanson, her daughter Cindy Rodgers, her sisters Anna Gallagher, Joyce Besek, Jackie Churchill, and her brother Buddy Phillips.

A celebration of Billye’s life will take place Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 11:00 am at Hill Country Church located at 107 Lower Crabapple Rd., Fredericksburg, TX, 78624. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Billye’s honor be made to Methodist Hill Country Hospice at 808 Reuben St., P.O. Box 835, Fredericksburg, TX 78624.
