Derek Jordan Hernandez

Derek Jordan Hernandez, 17, of Andrews passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 in Lubbock, Texas.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate his life at 10:00 AM Monday, May 3, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Ogbonna officiating. Interment followed in the Andrews North Cemetery. Visitation was Saturday from 4:00 – 9:00 PM and Sunday from 1:00 – 9:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.

Derek was born on February 1, 2004 in Uvalde, Texas to Pedro Hernandez and Felicia Rivera Hernandez. He was a Junior at Andrews High School and participated in Cross Country, Track and

A Capella choir. Derek loved to hang out with his friends, play online video games and basketball. He enjoyed picking on his siblings and annoying his mom. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Fermin Rivera and his great-grandparents.

Derek is survived by his parents, Pedro and Felicia Hernandez of Andrews, Texas, siblings, Katelynn, Mikayla and Diego all of Andrews, Texas, grandparents, Estella Rivera and Alvino Rios, Jr. of Uvalde, Texas and Norman and Sylvia Torres of Batesville, Texas.
