Ersilia Gonzales Aguerro

Ersilia Gonzales Aguerro, of Andrews, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in her home, on Monday, July 4, 2022, in Andrews, Texas.

Friends and family gathered to celebrate her life at 10:00AM, Friday, July 8th, 2022, at First United Pentecostal Church in Andrews, Texas with Berry Linton officiating. Interment followed at the Andrews North Cemetery. Viewing and Visitation was held from 5:00-8:00PM on Thursday, July 7th, 2022, at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews, Texas.

Ersilia was born on April 24, 1946, in Sanderson, Texas to Santos Hernandez Gonzales and Luz Ponce. She was known to everyone as “Sister Sheila”. Ersilia worked at Kirby West and then later learned to love being a stay-at-home mom and loved having her family around all the time. She was the caretaker of the family. Some things she was known for was her love for dairy queen ice cream, coffee, shopping at garage sales, cooking, and baking. She loved her church dearly and made sure to teach her grandchildren prayer. She prayed for everyone. Ersilia did jail ministry and touched so many people with her words of faith. She was loved by everyone and will be missed dearly.

Ersilia was preceded in death by her parents, Brothers Ruben Rodriquez, and Guillermo Rodriquez, 3 sisters Maria Elena Valdez, Margarita Lopez and Esperanza Saldivar.

She is survived by her sisters, Connie Rodriguez of Andrews, Texas; Josie Cruz of Collins, Georgia and Santa Perez of Cypress, Texas; Her daughters Lisa Garcia and husband Lee; Linda Harris and husband Jason; Elena Hood and husband Nathan and Teresa Aguerro and husband Edson Gracia all of Andrews, Texas; Her Grandchildren Natalie, Erik, Jamie, Tiffany, Sarah, Kat’lynn, Autumn, Mercedes, Leslie, Kaleb, Kinzee, Kaden, and Edson Kai. And her Great-Grandchildren Joel, Damien, Austin, Sebastian, Weston, Oliver, Maisyn, and Molley.
