Evangelina G. Baeza, a beacon of love and joy, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024, in Andrews, Texas. Born on June 20, 1938, in Ojinaga, Mexico, Evangelina’s life was a testament to her spirited nature, kindness, and selfless dedication to her family.

Evangelina’s early life in Ojinaga laid the foundation for her lifelong values of family, faith, and friendship. It was in her beloved hometown where she met and married the love of her life, Manuel Baeza, on October 27, 1961. Their union was blessed with four devoted children, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. After 46 years of marriage, Manuel passed away on September 18, 2008, leaving Evangelina with cherished memories and a legacy of enduring love.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Evangelina’s family was the centerpiece of her life. She is survived by her children, Hector M. Baeza and wife Rosa E., Isidro Baeza and wife Maria L., Jose A. Baeza and wife Cindy, and Evangelina B. Hobbs and husband Ronny, all of Andrews, Texas. Her legacy continues to flourish through her 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense pride and joy to her heart.

Evangelina’s siblings held a special place in her life; she is survived by her brothers, Benjamin Galindo of Eunice, NM, and Victor Galindo of Ojinaga, MX, and her sister, Atilana Lujan of San Antonio, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband Manuel, her parents Antonio and Gregoria Olivas Galindo, and her siblings Pilar Carrasco, Manuel Galindo, Isidro Galindo, Ugaldo Galindo, Leopoldo Galindo, and Salvador Galindo.

Her faith was an integral part of Evangelina’s life. As a long-standing member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, her faith was her guiding light, inspiring her to live a life of service and compassion.

Evangelina’s elegance and love for the finer things in life were evident to all who knew her. She was the epitome of a classy lady, with a love for shopping and dining out with friends. Yet, it was in her kitchen where Evangelina’s heart truly shined. She loved to cook for her family and friends, and her home was always filled with the tantalizing aromas of her delicious meals.

Her high-spirited personality was contagious, and she had the remarkable ability to lift the spirits of everyone around her. Evangelina’s warm presence and caring nature were her gifts to the world, and she will be remembered for the way she selflessly put the needs of others before her own. Evangelina G. Baeza’s life story is one of resilience, generosity, and unwavering love. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched, and her spirit will continue to inspire and guide her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate her life at 10:00AM, Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic church with Father Joseph Ogbonna officiating. She was laid to rest at the Andrews County North Cemetery, pallbearers included: Hector Baeza, David Baeza, Isidro Baeza, Albert Flores, Jesus Baeza, and Jose Baeza. Visitation was held from 6:00PM-7:00PM, Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at McNett Funeral Home with a Rosary that followed from 7:00PM-9:00PM. Arrangements are under the personal care of Mc-Nett Funeral Home.
