Evelyn Marie Singleterry

Evelyn Marie Singleterry, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2024, in Odessa, Texas, at the age of 90. Evelyn was born in Gouldbusk, Texas, on December 28, 1933, to Clarence and Ruby West.

Evelyn married Henry C. Singleterry, on September 18, 1954, in Odessa, Texas. They had three daughters. Henry and Evelyn enjoyed traveling and had many adventures until his death on October 23, 2010. A longtime resident of Andrews, Texas, Evelyn was known for her volunteer work with the Pink Ladies.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Susan Johnson and husband Randy, Linda McGuire and husband Mike, and Nancy Echols and husband Russ and her brother, Robert West. Evelyn was the proud grandmother to eight grandchildren, Clayton and Krystyl Johnson, Connie Johnson, Michael and Erin McGuire, Laura and James Holder, Kathryn McGuire, Alishia Echols, Aaron and Kimberly Echols, and Allon and Daisha Echols and 14 great grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, her parents, Clarence and Ruby, her brothers, Ralph and Raymond West, and her sisters, Yoma Fowler and Dora Henson.

Evelyn’s interests and talents were sewing and gardening.

A woman of deep faith, Evelyn was a member of the Crescent Park Baptist Church for the last nine years. Her faith was a source of strength and comfort to her.

Evelyn leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and the importance of family.

Visitation will be held from 10:00AM-12:00PM, Friday, April 5, 2024, at McNett Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 2:00PM at the Andrews County West Cemetery with Dr. Michael McGuire officiating. A memorial service will be held, at 10:00AM Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Crescent Park Baptist Church in Odessa, TX. Arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.
