Frances Sawyer, 87, of Andrews passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2020 in Andrews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews. Interment will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 AM โ€“ 9 PM on Monday, and the family will receive friends from 6 PM โ€“ 8 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Frances was born on July 28, 1932 in Roby, Texas to John Ollie Cooper and Lottice Phillips Cooper. She was raised in Fisher County, where their family farmed, and she graduated from Roby High School in 1949. She married James Weldon Sawyer on May 22, 1949 in Roby, Texas, and they moved to Andrews in 1952. She had worked for the AISD school cafeteria at Glorieta Elementary from 1970 โ€“ 1982, and she also worked at Dowell, Haliburton, and First National Bank in Andrews. She was a past member of Second Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church. She was a faithful and proud member of the PRMC Pink Ladies Auxiliary, where she devoted many years and service hours. She was preceded in death by her husband on December 13, 1979, her parents, and two sons, Gene and Jim Sawyer, 3 sisters, Ruby Carpenter, Linnie Eitel, and Bonnie Todd, 4 brothers, Earl, Chester, Carl, and Ernie Cooper, and 2 great grandchildren, Jonathan Moore, Jr. and Jayce Moore.

Frances is survived by her 4 children, Johnny Sawyer of Andrews, Mitch Sawyer and wife, Michelle, of Andrews, Venita Shellman and husband, Mike, of Anaheim, CA, and Joretta Woods and husband, Ken, of College Station, 2 siblings, Gene Cooper of Crystal City, Missouri, and Evelyn Swinney and husband, Ken, of Hobbs, New Mexico, and 13 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be the PRMC Pink Ladies Auxiliary, and memorials may be sent to them at PO Box 2108, Andrews, Texas 79714.
