George “Mack” Humphrey
George “Mack” Humphrey, 75, of Aztec, New Mexico passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021, in Farmington, New Mexico.
Family and friends gathered to celebrate his life at 10:00 AM Monday, August 30, 2021, at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews, Texas with Rev. Rick Doyle officiating. Interment followed in the Andrews North Cemetery under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home. The family received friends from 1 – 5 PM on Sunday at McNett Funeral Home. George was born
February 22, 1946, in Fouke, Arkansas to Elmer and Virgie Humphrey. George graduated from Andrews High School and helped build the new High School during the summer. Mack and Karan were high school sweethearts. Married on June 04, 1966. Over time, the jobs George was working had allowed him to travel to different places and work. In 1967 George’s employment with Parker Drilling took him to Aniakchak, Alaska drilling silo wells, Exxon, which took him to Wyoming as a welding construction inspector and working for Sam P. Wallace took him to Saudi Arabia building an airport. He also worked for Elm Ridge Resources Construction as the Superintendent. Some of George’s hobbies were hunting, fishing, going to auctions and collecting his kids and grandkids. He loved spending time with his family and being able to meet his Great-Grandson for the first time. George is preceded in death by his parents and brother Elmer Don Humphrey.
George is survived by his wife, Karan Kay Bostick Humphrey, son, Thurston Kirk Humphrey, and wife Shannon, of Dickenson, Texas, daughter, Batina Denise Holcomb, and husband Lynn, of Andrews, Texas, grandchildren, Zackary Humphrey, of Andrews, Texas, Zandy Humphrey, Brandi, Austin and, great grandson Nolan Luna, of Andrews, Texas, and Keeley Holcomb, of Scott, Kansas and, niece Christy Bright of Midland, Texas, and Trey Humphrey of Grandbury, Texas
