Glenda Diane Rawls Fuston, 72, of Andrews, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 24, 2023. Her family and friends gathered to celebrate her remarkable life at a Graveside Service on Monday, August 28, 2023, at 10:00 AM in the serene surroundings of Andrews Old Cemetery, where she will find her final resting place. Visitation was held as a heartfelt tribute on Sunday, August 27, 2023, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at McNett Funeral Home. The compassionate team at McNett Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
Glenda was born on May 25, 1951, in Rayville, Louisiana, to the loving parents Ecell Rawls and Mattie Sue (Smith) Rawls. She grew up in Andrews and proudly graduated from Andrews High School in 1970. Glenda dedicated 18 years of her life as a compassionate Registered Nurse, forging deep bonds with her coworkers and the doctors she collaborated with throughout her career. Her talents extended beyond the medical field as she found joy in sewing, creating beautiful blankets and pillows, indulging in reading, collecting cherished items, and showcasing her culinary skills through cooking and baking. Her chocolate pies became legendary among her loved ones, and her admiration for Elvis Presley was immeasurable. Glenda’s immense pride shone through as she raised her grandson, witnessing him grow into the remarkable man he has become.
Glenda will always hold a special place in the hearts of her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ecell and Mattie Rawls, brother-in-law Byron Ball, and nephew Clint Ball.
She is lovingly remembered and survived by her children, Chad Fuston and wife Cynthia of Yukon, Oklahoma, Cody Fuston of Hong Kong, China, and Cassie Westerman of Abilene, Texas. Glenda’s memory lives on through her dear brothers, Don Rawls and wife Barbara of Calhoun, Louisiana, Gary Rawls and wife Cynthia of Andrews, Texas, Ronald Rawls and wife Shelly of West Monroe, Louisiana, and Jr. Rawls of West Monroe, Louisiana. She is also cherished by her sisters, Elaine Taylor of Downsville, Louisiana, Susie Ball of Andrews, Texas, and Pat Young of New York State. Glenda’s legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren, Allison Fuston-Auvenshine, Emma Fuston, Clint Shank, Chelsea Fuston, Colton Fuston, and Thor Fuston.
During this time of profound loss, may we find solace in the memories we shared with Glenda and the love she bestowed upon us. Her vibrant spirit and warm presence will be deeply missed but forever treasured.
