Jose “Joey” Luiz Roel, Jr., 54 of Salinas, CA passed away on March 1, 2021.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews, with Rev. Joseph Ogbonna officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 10 from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM at McNett Funeral Home with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. Joey was born on October 3, 1966 to Carol Luna and Jose Luiz Roel, Sr. in Salinas, CA. He was a talented automotive mechanic who always made time for his family. He loved football and was a faithful 49ers fan. Jose enjoyed cooking, drawing, listening to “oldies” and was a good dancer. “Tio Joey” was very loved by his many nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed by all his family. Jose was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Luna Palma and his stepfather, Castulo Molina Palma; his grandparents, Jose Luis and Hortencia Roel, and Thomas and Maria Luna.

Joey is survived by his father, Jose Luiz Roel, Sr.; 4 brothers, Mark Roel of Andrews, Jimmy Roel of Andrews, David Saldana and wife Tracey of Greeley, CO, and Michael Palma and wife Diana of Andrews; 2 sisters, Valeria Martinez and husband Ricardo Melendez of Andrews, and Christy Palma and husband Francisco Razo of Andrews, stepchildren, Bernave Zubiate and wife Angel Arellano, Diana Falcon and Stephanie Leal all of Salinas, California, 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
