Jose Manuel Alaniz, a devoted servant of God and a beacon of love and strength, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024, in Andrews, TX. Born on June 28, 1950, in Sinton, TX, Jose’s life was a testament to the power of faith, love, and family. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and minister who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he touched.

Jose’s journey began as the beloved son of Inocencio and Rufugia Alaniz. Throughout his life, he was surrounded by a loving family, including his dedicated wife, Diane Alaniz, whom he married on September 7, 1968. Their union was blessed with three children: son Tony Alaniz and his wife Dana, daughters Michele Williams and her husband Paul, and Christina Alaniz. Jose was a proud brother to Sammy Alaniz and his wife Gloria, and J.R. Alaniz and his wife Janette. He was predeceased by his parents, siblings Maria Loyza, Jose Alaniz, and Senida “Sandy” Pena, and son-in-law Daniel McBride.

The light of Jose’s life shone brightly through his eight grandchildren: Cody Rey Brown, Justin Alaniz, Dakota Brown, Tony Jacob Alaniz, Cody Lee Alaniz, Brianne Huck, Stormie Fernandez, and Ryan Rowlett. His legacy continued to grow with the joy of his 12 great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored immensely. Jose’s life was a tapestry of love woven through the generations of his family.

Jose dedicated his life to serving others, both as a Minister for many churches and through his passionate involvement in Prison Ministry. His commitment to his faith and community was unwavering, as he sought to guide and uplift those around him. His work was not just a vocation but a calling that he embraced with every fiber of his being.

A true healer in spirit, Jose was known for his boundless generosity. He lived by the principle that to give was to receive, and he exemplified this through his actions. His willingness to offer the shirt off his back was not merely a saying but a reality for those who knew him best. His compassionate nature and readiness to help others were the hallmarks of his character.

As a loving husband, Jose stood beside his wife Diane through every season of life, embodying the vows they shared. As a father, he instilled in his children the values of hard work, resilience, and humor. With a joke always at the ready, he brought laughter and lightness to any room. His love for his family was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent in their company.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 10:00AM, Friday, April 12, 2024, at the Maranatha Assembly of God in Andrews, TX, with Pastor Charlie Garcia Officiating. Burial will follow at the Andrews County North Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Cody Lee Alaniz, Justin Alaniz, Tony Jacob Alaniz, Ryan Rowlett, Xavier Fernandez, and T.J. Huck. Arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.
