Katherine “Kathy Jo” Barnes

Katherine “Kathy Jo” Barnes, 70, of Andrews TX passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, in Andrews, Texas.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Kathy was born July 04, 1951, in Tulia, Texas, to Claiborne William Carroll and Thelma Grace “Renfro” Carroll. She married Donald Roy Barnes on August 6, 2017, in Ruidoso, New Mexico and they spent 4 wonderful years together. Kathy was spirited she loved to dance and travel. She also enjoyed to garden and make jewelry. She had a kind heart which led her to receive her LVN and care for others. Kathy loved animals especially her horses. She loved the water, no matter what she was doing if she could look out and see water it made her happy. She loved listening to Country music and would often have a radio on. Kathy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, she will be dearly missed.

Kathy is survived by her husband: Donald Barnes of Andrews, TX.; sons: Larry Phillip Harper and wife Jessica of Hobbs, NM.; Jason Harper and wife Robin of Andrews, TX.; and Daughter: Tiffany Trotter and husband Darrell of Andrews, TX.; Derrick Barnes of Andrews, TX.and Destiny Baze and husband Matthew of Lubbock, TX.; sister: Janet Kindred and husband Jim of Andrews, TX.; 8 grandchildren:, Paula, Brittany, Zachary, Taylor, Jacob, Ethan, Matthew, and Toby; and 5 great grandchildren: Maddux, Aiden, Audrey, Brooklyn, and Kennedy.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents: Clay and Grace Carroll; daughter: Paula Lynn Harper; and sister: Becky Pylant.
