Lola Mae Haler
Lola Mae Haler (Turnbow), age 93, of Andrews TX. went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 25, 2023.
The funeral service will be held at 10 am Friday, June 30, 2023, at McNett funeral home in Andrews TX. Pastor Darrell G. Trout will be officiating. Burial to follow at Andrews County West Cemetery immediately after. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 1 pm to 8 pm and Thursday June 29, 2023, from 1pm to 8 pm at McNett Funeral home.
Lola was born to Herman Porter Turnbow and Bessie Lang Turnbow in Andrews, TX. on November 20, 1929. She graduated from Andrews High School. Lola married Jack H. Fulwider in 1948 and they were married for 36 years, until his death in 1984. Lola married Felix Haler in 1995 and they were married for 19 years until his death in 2014.
Lola was a full-time Wife and Mom for 37 years before working as a teacher’s aide for special needs children at Clearfork Elementary in Andrews, TX. Her passion was loving her family, and her home was always open for anyone in need. She also enjoyed her church, writing poems, painting, and sewing. Lola had a heart for the elderly. She taught the Women’s Sunday School class at McKinney Acres Baptist Church for a time. She also enjoyed visiting homebound elderly congregation members as well as residents at Andrews Nursing Home. Later in life she was active with Meals on Wheels and her Church in Mason Tx.
Lola is survived by daughter-in-law Sharen Fulwider of Andrews, TX., son Gary and Lori Fulwider of Andrews, TX., son Randy and April Fulwider of Gardendale, TX., grandson Steve and Laurie Fulwider of Midland, TX., grandson Terry and April Fulwider of Andrews, TX., granddaughter Tracie and Daniel Gambol of Gardendale, TX., granddaughter Sherrie Standley of Andrews, TX., grandson Charley H. and Anastasia Standley of Gardendale, TX., granddaughter McKaylee and Sean Carruth of Andrews, TX., granddaughter Brooke and Garrett Nock of Odessa, TX., grandson Jon and Peyton Fulwider of Allen, TX., granddaughter Jaycee and Drew Boyce of New Braunfels, TX., Twentythree great-grandchildren: McKinzee, Gabe, Avery, Harley, Charlie, Parker, Hunter, Madison, Xxayden, Marissa, Caysen, Paisley, Colton, Hartlee, Deacon, Miller, Gunner, Alaina, Amelia, Jack, Kingston, Bellamy, and Dahlia.
Lola is preceded in death by her parents and all her siblings, Jack H. Fulwider (Husband), Larry C. Fulwider (Son), and Felix Haler (Husband) In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Meals on Wheels at the Andrews Senior Citizens Center. The Family of Lola Mae Haler wants to thank the personnel at Permian Regional Care Center for their outstanding care and devotion to her.
