Maria A. Valenzuela, 68, of Andrews passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018 in Andrews.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Mass at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 201 NE Avenue K, in Andrews with Rev. Joseph Ogbonna, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery. Rosary services will be recited at 7:00 PM Friday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Maria was born on December 25, 1949 in Alpine, Texas to Juan Arispe, Sr. and Thomasa Hernandez Arispe. She was raised in Odessa and moved to Loving, New Mexico and then to Andrews in 1973. She married Manuel O. Valenzuela on September 28, 1975 in Andrews. She had worked as a dietician for the Andrews Nursing Center and was a homemaker. She loved collecting writing pens, scratch off lottery tickets, watching wrestling, the Kardashians, and Big Bang Theory on TV. She enjoyed cooking for her family, especially her tortillas and chili colorado. She loved spending time with her family, Frances foot massages, parties and her goody bags for her grandchildren, and having Branson around with her. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews.
Maria is survived by her 8 children, Donna Ramirez, Tammy Ruano, Melissa Leyva, Frances Valenzuela, Richard Valenzuela, and Felix Plan-carte, all of Andrews, and Leonard and Toribio Murillo, both of Loving, New Mexico, 3 sisters, Angie Rodriguez, Terry Arispe, and Isabel Armendariz, all of Loving, New Mexico, 1 brother, Juan Arispe, Jr.of Odessa, 19 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on September 26, 2013, her parents and a son, Abraham Valenzuela.
