Mike Saldivar

Mike Saldivar, 70, of Andrews, Texas passed away August 21, 2021, in San Angelo, Texas.

Family and friends will gather for a Graveside service 10:00AM Thursday, August 26, 2021, in the Andrews North Cemetery with Pastor Leslie Boone officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5PM – 9PM at McNett Funeral Home.

Mike Saldivar was born August 30, 1950, in Sanderson, Texas to Joel and Esperanza Saldivar. He was born and raised in Sanderson and Andrews, Texas but lived in San Angelo, Texas since 1993. Mike was a self-employed flooring installer for 40 years. Mike and Betty were married for 51 years. He enjoyed riding Harley Davidson, playing with his dogs; Zane, Penny, and Neo, gardening, creating metal art, and playing the guitar. Mike was always one to save a penny and enjoyed going to garage sales on Saturday mornings and getting pan dulce on the way home. He loved telling stories and sharing experiences he had gone through because of this he decided to write his stories down of when he was a young boy. Mike also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids sitting on the porch talking and telling jokes. During the holidays, Mike enjoyed preparing the Thanksgiving meal for his family. He was a believer in Jesus Christ and even in his last days he still had a sense of humor and a sense of protection for his family. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Joel and Esperanza Saldivar, and brother David Saldivar.

Mike is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty Saldivar of San Angelo, Texas, his son Michael, and daughter Marina. Mike had four grandkids: Hopee Gutierrez, 30, Mykah Saldivar, 20, Mykalah Saldivar, 16, and Myleah Saldivar, 14. Siblings Joe (Pat) Saldivar, Sue Mireles, Manuel Saldivar, Roy (Kathy) Saldivar, Edward Saldivar, Linda (Pete) Luna, and Valerie Saldivar. Along with many nieces and nephews.
