Randal Clay Ellison

Randal Clay Ellison, age 75, of Andrews passed away Monday, January 16, 2023, in Odessa, TX.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 2PM Thursday, January 19, 2023, at the Andrews Church of Christ in Andrews, Texas. Terry Ellison and Leslie Boone will be officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.

Randal was born October 19, 1947, in Slaton, Texas to Albert J. Earnest Ellison and Dora Lee Ellison. He married Janith Ann “Nicholson” July 26, 1968, in Brownfield, TX. They have spent 54 amazing years together. Randal attended South Plains Junior College and Abilene Christian College on a baseball scholarship. Randal was a hardworking family man. He was also a man of great faith. He was an active member of the Andrews Church of Christ for 28 years. He was an elder in the church and loved to lead the congregation in song. Randal was a jack of all trades. He loved to be out tinkering on things and could fix just about anything. In his spare time, he loved to fish, hunt, and play golf. Randal always had a smile on his face and a kind word to share. He also loved to have his tea cold and in a Styrofoam cup. Randal was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be dearly missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Janith Ann Ellison of Andrews, TX, 2 sons, Donald Zane Ellison and wife Jill of Lubbock, TX, and Coy Layton Ellison and wife Cherie of Andrews, TX, brother, Albert Zane Ellison of Dimmitt, TX and 4 grandchildren, Riley, Drake, Kyler, and Harley Ellison.

Randal is preceded in death by his parents Earnest and Dora Lee Ellison and brother Donald Clyde Ellison.
