Revice Ivy Thompson, 97, of Andrews passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 in Andrews.
Family and friends gathered to celebrate her life at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the First United Pentecostal Church with Pastor James Linton officiating. Interment followed in the Andrews Old Cemetery. The family received friends 6-8 PM on Friday, January 31, 2020 at the funeral home. Revice was born on October 17, 1922 in Lovington, New Mexico to Bill and Callie Hall Teague. She married J.P. Ivy on July 31, 1944 in Lovington, New Mexico. J.P. passed away on February 5, 1981. Revice married Frank Thompson on September 25, 1987 in Big Spring, Texas. Frank passed away on February 18, 2002, she married Bill Thompson on July 7, 2004, Bill passed away on January 7, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister Reatha Brantley, nieces Revice Henderson and Lynda Jones, and nephew Donald Brantley.
As a resident of Andrews for over 75 years, she was known by so many as Sister Ivy. Revice was a founding and charter member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Andrews. She loved her church, gospel music, church actives, family and friends. In the past few years, she was also known to enjoy her trips to the Dairy Queen and her favorite beauty shop.
Revice is survived by several great nephews and nieces as well as their children. She was also blessed with so many friends and caregivers who loved and supported her daily.
