Surrounded by her family, Ronnie Lynne Thornton, 58, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 7, 2021. In her last few moments on Earth, Ronnie was reminded of how immensely loved she was and that she would be deeply missed. A celebration of her life will be held at La Nueva Jerusalem Church in Andrews, Tx on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 10:00 AM.

Ronnie Lynne was born on October 12, 1962 in Lovington, NM to Ronnie LeMond and Janie Giddens. She graduated from Midland Lee High School in 1981. It took one motorcycle ride, and when she “wrapped her arms around him” she fell in love with Tim Thornton. After only dating for a couple of months, they married on October 30, 1981 and enjoyed many more motorcycle rides together. Ronnie resided most of her life in Andrews, TX where she and Tim raised three girls, Kilah, Katee and Mikah. She took the most pride in being a mom and wife. Ronnie loved to be in the kitchen. You could find her feeding all her “kids” her famous chicken strips during their lunch break or baking for the people that she loved the most. She enjoyed serving others! You could always find Ronnie near a good book and a tub of yarn, always wearing her comfy clothes. One of her favorite places to be was the back porch with Tim. They sat out there a lot and at night, would watch for falling stars. If they saw one, she would say “there goes my brother.” You can almost guarantee there was a home-made white chocolate mocha in her hand at any time of the day. If there wasn’t, she was enjoying the sweetest sweet tea, with ice that she could crunch. As an avid reader, she regularly would sign a book after finishing it, and then pass it along to someone else whom she thought needed a good read. If anyone knew how to revive a plant, it was Ronnie. She had the greenest of all thumbs and had “adopted” many of her girls plants. She was a genius when it came to sewing and crocheting. These pieces became a part of her ministry as she would pray for others as she worked. Upon gifting them, you could always count on there being words of encouragement or endearment attached. Perhaps her greatest joy in life was being “Tiny.” Her eight grandbabies were her most favorite pastime and her girls, the “happy ending to her story”. For their whole lives, she prayed for their husbands, and was delighted and overjoyed when God brought her her “boys,” Patrick, Matt and Cameron. When her health allowed, she never turned down an opportunity to spend time with her family. We know her faithful and most favorite baby of all, Chloe, was waiting for her at the gates, dancing and saying “I’ve been waiting on your lap!” She recently told a friend she was “running to her complete healing”, and she did...straight into the arms of our Comforter, Healer, Defender and Friend, JESUS. Although we already miss her, and will never stop, we will confidently wait for the day we too will hear the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Ronnie was preceded in death by grandparents, Floyd and Grandma Evelyn (she “called her Grandma first, Rod.” Hehe.), uncles Richard and Jimmy LeMond and Ikey Hooper, cousins Nathan and Michael Drew Giddens, nephew, Cole Parker, mom, Janie “Gigi” Green, her brother, Robert Green, and her sisters Christy Marquez and Bo DeShay LeMond.

She is survived by her best friend and husband, Tim Thornton of Del Rio, TX; Kilah and Patrick Flores of Andrews, TX; Katee and Matt Williamson of Bryan, TX; Mikah and Cameron Hulan of Lubbock, TX; grandchildren Timothy, Tate and Felicity Flores, Daulton and Brooks Williamson, and Carleigh, Kolten and Piper Hulan; her parents Ronnie and Brenda Le-Mond of Andrews; her brother Grady LeMond of Andrews; her in-laws Ernest and Ann Thornton of Del Rio, TX and a numerous amount of extended family.
