Roscoe Willard Bohannon Sr.
Roscoe Willard Bohannon Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2023, at the age of 88 in Andrews, Texas. Born on November 21, 1935, in Douglass, Kansas, to the late Frank and Mina Bohannon, Roscoe’s life was defined by dedication to his family, his country, and his work.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Roscoe served his nation with honor and valor. After his military service, he embarked on a fulfilling career with El Paso Natural Gas, where he remained for 38 years until his retirement. His commitment to excellence and his strong work ethic left a lasting impression on all who worked alongside him.
Roscoe married the love of his life, Sarah L. Bohannon, on October 1, 1955, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and an ever- growing family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sarah, of Andrews, Texas; his son, Ronnie Bohannon and wife Lisa of Lake Kiowa, Texas; his daughter, Bridget Loffler of Odessa, Texas; seven grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and four great-greatgrandchildren who will forever cherish his memory. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Roscoe “Rocky” Bohannon Jr., and his grandson Randall W. Bohannon.
Roscoe’s zest for life was evident in his many interests. He was happiest when camping and fishing with his children, creating memories that would last a lifetime. A familiar face on the sidelines, he loved watching his grandkids play sports, cheering them on with pride and enthusiasm. His passion for life extended to his home, where he found joy in working on various projects, always improving and caring for the place he loved.
As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we celebrate the life of Roscoe Willard Bohannon Sr. and the immeasurable impact he made on everyone he encountered. His story does not end with his passing, for he left behind a tapestry of love and family that will continue to flourish and honor his memory. His final resting place will be Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, Texas.
