She married Walter Dan Galloway in November 2011 in Andrews, Texas. He preceded her in death on April 24, 2019. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Weizenecker and her father Gerald Peterson and wife, June.
Rae was a loving mama, granny, sister, daughter and friend. Her shine was bright and once you met her you wanted to spend time with her and be in her glow. She was devoted to her faith and God and you didn’t spend time with her without getting a clear understanding of that. Incredibly intelligent, funny, full of laughter and wisdom, you could count on good conversation, a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen when you needed. Many fell under the spell of her loving ways and included her as their “Mama Rae”. She was a true Texas lady and loved being a Texan, and got here from Ohio as fast as she could.
Rae is survived by her children, Tonya Hestand and husband, Tommy of Snyder, Texas, Beth Cude and husband, Brian of Lampasas, Texas, Marshall Gressett and wife, Sandie of Andrews, Texas, and Clay Gressett and wife, Summer of Tucumcari, New Mexico, sisters, Rene Hanni of Beloit, Ohio, Rhonda Zinn of North Benton, Ohio, Roene Burris of Homeworth, Ohio, Angela Gossiaux of Sebring, Ohio, Deanna Mock of Beloit, Ohio and 13 grandchildren. She is also survived by her bonus parent, James Weizenecker of High Pointe, North Carolina.
