Trey Duncan Culp
Trey Duncan Culp went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 25, 2024 surrounded by his loving family in Andrews, Texas.
Trey was born in Andrews on November 11, 1959 to Joe Ray and Patsy Culp. He enjoyed a wonderful celebration of his 65th birthday several weeks ago with his family and wonderful friends in Andrews. Joe Ray passed away at the age of 33 of congenital heart failure and Patsy married F.W. (“Bubba”) Hoermann several years later. Trey was raised in a loving family along with his three brothers by Patsy and Bubba in Andrews. Trey suffered a severe stroke in July 2023 and was never able to fully recover from the effects of the stroke.
Trey touched so many lives each and every day with his infectious smile and laughter, quick wit and his kind and giving heart. He would do anything for anyone. Trey loved his family and adored his 8 nieces and nephews. He loved and enjoyed each and every one of his clients and friendships that were developed over the many years he lived in the wonderful town of Andrews. Even in his darkest hours, he carried a smile and grew even more friendships in the rehabilitation and care centers he was in. Many called him “Our Trey” as he was dearly loved by all. He worked side by side with his lifelong friend and “second Mom”, Sally Carruth, cutting hair at Strandz for over 30 years. Trey and Sally maintained an unbreakable bond and friendship until his passing.
Trey was preceded in death by his mother, father, stepfather, brother Perry Dyke Culp, niece Katlyn Jo Culp, uncle Bobby Davis, aunt Darla Jones (Richard), uncle Perry Culp and his grandparents. He is survived by his sisterin- law Connie Culp of Odessa, brothers Tim Culp (Annette) of Midland and Kip Culp (Missi) of Lamesa, nieces and nephews Kyndall Baze (Drew), Landon Culp (Jordan), Kallie Wesson (Craig), Corey Culp (April), Lindsay Schwab (Garrett), Kristin Groner (Jered), Tanner Culp (Kaitlyn), Tyler Culp (Rick Ann), aunts Delmarie Davis, Debby Ketchersid (Jimmy) and Helen Culp and numerous cousins. His nieces and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Special thanks to Sally, Debby and Tyler for their loving care and support for Trey this past year and the wonderful caretakers at Moody Neurological Rehabilitation Hospital in Lubbock and Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews.
The family will receive friends at McNett Funeral Home in Andrews from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Andrews County Cemetery officiated by Kevin Bushart, Pastor of Means Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Trey to the Permian Residential Care Center and Means Methodist Church of Andrews.
Arrangements are entrusted to the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day -- and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing,” II Timothy 4:7-8
