Valentina H. Mata, age 72, of Andrews Texas, passed from this life Sunday, September 17, 2023, in Lubbock, Texas.
Family and friends gathered to celebrate her life at 10:00AM, Friday, September 22, 2023, at McNett Funeral Home in Andrews, TX, with James Barnes officiating. Burial followed at the Andrews County North Cemetery. Visitation was held Wednesday, September 20, 2023, and Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 4:00PM-8:00PM at Mc-Nett Funeral Home. Arrangements were under the personal care of Mc-Nett Funeral Home.
Valentina was born January 12, 1951, in Odessa Texas to Ramon Huertas and Angelita Galindo. She was the eldest of 9 children. June 2, 2001, she married Danny Mata in Andrews, TX. Valentina was a hardworking, and kindhearted woman. She loved to help anyone and everyone, no one was ever left out when they came to her. She had a huge heart. Valentina enjoyed working outside in her garden. She especially loved tending to her flowers. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend and will be dearly missed by many.
Valentina is survived by her husband: Danny Mata of Andrews, TX; daughters: Joanna Sodd and husband Kyle of Andrews, TX; and Pat Llanez and husband Mario of Odessa, TX; stepdaughters: Elizabeth Praides of Alabama; Daniella Sosa and husband Michael of Hobbs, NM; and Desirae Mata of Hobbs, NM; brother: Freddy Huertas and wife Linda of Odessa, TX; sisters: Sylvia Alaniz and husband Bobby of Andrews, TX; Yolanda Garcia of Odessa, TX; Felicita Huertas of Odessa, TX; and Susan Galindo and husband Gavino of Odessa, TX; grandchildren: Emylee Roman and husband Matt; Nicolas Cruz and wife Melissa; Mason Mendoza; Kimberly Casias; Tim Llanez; Kristian Llanez; Xavier Sosa; Xandrea Sosa; Buddy Sosa; Marcos D. Wooley; Matthew D. Wooley; Yolanda Praides; Analiz Praides; and Doreato Cantu; and 7 great grandchildren; Ezra; Elijah; Emersyn; Isaiah; Janie; Amaris; Jacob.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Ramon and Angelita Huerta; brothers: Jr. Huertas; and Emillio Huertas; and sister: Martha Huertas.
