Vonnie Laverne Mainka

VonnieLaverneMainka, age 84, of Andrews, TX., passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2022, in Andrews, TX. Surrounded by her family.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 8, 2022, at The McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews, Texas Randy Bartley officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Andrews North Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 5-8PM at McNett Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the care of McNett Funeral Home.

Vonnie was born July 21, 1938, in Gorman, Texas to Faughn E. Shook and Oma B. Wilson Shook. She married Paul Mainka Sr. on January 21, 1958, in Ranger, TX., and they spent 59 amazing years together until his passing in 2017. Vonnie enjoyed family vacation at the lake. She also liked to make home crafted item for her family. She was famous for her homemade German Chocolate and Mississippi Mud Cakes.

Vonnie is survived by her: 3 sons: Paul Mainka, Jr., and wife Tracy of Andrews, TX.; Richard Mainka and wife Dorothy of Rising Star, TX.; and David Mainka and wife Rebecca of Bangs, TX; grandchildren, Olen Nicholson, Roxanne Mainka, Paula Goff, Ryan Mainka, Stephen Mainka, Justin Mainka, Mitchell Mainka, Krista Womack; Great grandchildren; Brady and Cheyenne Nicholson, Renner Mainka, Barrett Mainka, Paityn Brown and Raylon Mainka, Piper and Leo Mainka, and Remi and Dominic Womack.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Faughn Shook, and Oma, step-father, Milton Underwood, husband, Paul Mainka, brother, Burl Shook, and sister, Lynette Veal.
