Candida Flores Armendariz, 83, of Andrews passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019 in Andrews surrounded by her loving family.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10:00 Monday, April 29, 2019 at La Nueva Jerusalem Church, 2535 NW Mustang Drive, in Andrews. Interment will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery. Visitation will be at La Nueva Jerusalem Church and will be 12 – 9 PM on Saturday and 3 – 9 PM on Sunday. Prayer services will be at 6:00 PM Saturday and 6:00 PM Sunday at La Nueva Jerusalem Church. Arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.

Candida was born on March 30, 1936 in Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mexico to Manuel Armendariz and Ana Maria Nieto. She was raised in Meoqui and Loma de Juarez, Mexico. She married Alberto G. Flores on August 10, 1953 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. They moved to Valle Nuevo, Mexico, where they lived close to their church. She made and sold Flowers for Dia de Finados in Valle Nuevo. She also made and sewed her children’s clothing. They were very involved in the church and loved to sing. They loved to host visiting ministers at their home. They traveled visiting surrounding areas and churches, where they would bring the Gospel and sing. They moved to Andrews in 1979, where they active members of Apostolic Worship Center. They would travel back to Mexico to give food and supplies to the orphanages, friends, and people. She was a strong Christian woman, and her faith and family were the most important. She loved having her home as the place where family and friends could visit and eat. She was very giving, loving, generous, always helping others. She enjoyed baking, especially Mexican sweet bread and tamales, cooking, garden flowers, plants, and keeping up with everyone on Face-book. She was known to sew the first blankets for her family when they were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on October 7, 2014, her parents, 2 infant sons, and 3 siblings, Ismael Armendariz, Daniel Armendariz, and Rosa Maria Chavariia.

She is survived by her children, Samuel Flores, Sr. and wife, Neri, of Andrews, Saul Flores, Sr. and wife, Arabela, of Andrews, Alberto Flores, Jr. and wife, Teresa, of Midland, Hazael Flores and wife, Arminda, of Andrews, Flavio Flores and wife, Amabila, of Andrews, Ever Flores and wife, Otilia, of Andrews, Ismael Flores and wife, Mary Ann, of Pensacola, Florida, Dalila Melendez and husband, Rafael, of Andrews, Leonel Flores, Sr. and wife, Griselda, of Andrews, Caleb Flores and wife, Maribel, of Houston, and Abdiel Flores of Andrews; 4 siblings, Gonzalo Armendariz of Delicias, Mexico, Ana Maria Armendariz of Oklahoma, Emilio Armendariz of California, and Enedelia Armendariz of Delicias, Mexico; 28 grandchildren, Linda, Sammy Jr., Stella, Saul Jr., Sergio, Cristoval, Abigail, Nehemiah, Karina, Alberto III, Ivan, Rubi, Yadira, Liliana, Eliana, Nathan, Bianca, Joshue, Gabriel, Elizabeth, Ezequiel, Christian, Alexssa, Leonel Jr., Salma, Samantha, Lissette, and Paola; and 35 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be provided in honor of her by providing food for the less fortunate and needy.
