Emily “Em” Rae Ram-pone, 35, of Andrews passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019 in Andrews.
Family and friends gathered to celebrate Mass at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 201 NE Avenue K, in Andrews. Rosary services were recited at 6:00 PM on Sunday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. A balloon release and gathering was held at 8:00 PM on Sunday following the Rosary service at the Andrews Old Softball Complex at 800 SE Avenue E. Emily was born on March 10, 1984 in Andrews to Thomas Dominic Rampone, Sr. and Rachel Nerio Rampone. She was raised in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School in 2002. During her younger years, she played basketball, volleyball, track, and softball. She was a past member of the original West Texas Twisters softball travel team in Andrews. She was a 4-year starter in high school for the Andrews Lady Mustangs Softball team, where she received numerous awards. She had attended the University Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) and was recently enrolled in barber school. She had lived in San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Lubbock, El Paso and Andrews. She had been working as a waitress at Torino’s Pizza Bar in Midland. She had been playing in the slow pitch softball for the women’s and co-ed leagues in the region. She will be remembered as being the loudmouth, full of energy, wild child. She had a big heart and would help anyone out. She was known to be the protector of the family, especially for her brother and her two children. She liked the Los Angeles Dodgers and loved to watch her son play baseball and her daughter play softball.
Emily is survived by her parents, Thomas “Tommy”, Sr. and Rachel Rampone of Andrews, son, Ethan Xaivier Polendo of Andrews, daughter, Edynn Paige Polendo of Andrews, and brother, Thomas “T.J.” Rampone, Jr. of Andrews.
