Cesar Anibal Monroy, 67 of Andrews, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas.

Family and Friends will gather to celebrate his life at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Rev. Patrick Akpanobong officiating. Cremation is under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Cesar was born on August 29, 1952 in Guastatoya El Progreso, Guatemala to Valerio and Pilar Recinos Monroy. Cesar married Irene Madrid February 1, 1974 in Andrews, Texas. He worked as a Production Tech for Oxy for many years. He was a sports coach for many youth in Andrews. He enjoyed watching the Texas Longhorns, San Antonio Spurs, FC Barcelona soccer, and Guatemala Comunicaciones Soccer (Los Cremas). Cesar loved to BBQ and spend time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Irene, his parents Valerio and Pilar Monroy, siblings, Neftali Monroy, David Monroy, Rosa Elena Monroy.

Cesar is survived by his sons, Stephen Monroy of San Antonio, Texas, Bryan Monroy of San Antonio, Texas and Michael Monroy and wife Danay of Austin, Texas. Siblings, Marta Solano and husband Modesto, Moises Monroy and wife Alma, Luz Rodas, Josue Monroy, Aura Escriba and husband Victor, Daniel Monroy and wife Haydee, Sara Davidiuk and husband Dimitre, and Ruth Ramos and husband Benjamin. 2 grandchildren, Aryah and Ja’Den Monroy of Austin, Texas.
