Rita B. Gonzales, 87, of Andrews passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020 in Midland.

Rita was born on May 26,1932 in Sanderson, Texas to Santiago and Aurora Arredondo Barrera. She married Mauricio Gonzales on March 2, 1950 in Sanderson. Rita had a love for eating at different restaurants, saying her rosary twice a day and was a wonderful cook, especially desserts. She was a custodian for Andrews schools for many years and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Rita was preceded in death by her daughter, Diana Gonzales, son, Mauricio Gonzales, Jr., brother, Santiago Barrera, and sister, Susana Silvas and her parents.

She is survived by her daughters, Maria DelCarmen Gonzales, Elida Rodriguez and Margarita “Maggie” Gomez and husband Mario all of Andrews, brothers, Homero Barrera of Pecos, Texas, Gilberto Barrera of San Antonio, Texas, sister, Virginia Ochoa of Del Rio, Texas, 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 6 great-greatgrandchildren.
