Darwin “Doc” Murdoch

Darwin “Doc” Murdoch, 81, of Andrews passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 at his home in Andrews. He was preceded in death by his wife Myrna in 2014.

Darwin Gerald Murdoch was born on November 19, 1938 in Girard, Texas to James Truman Murdoch and Arkie Evelyn Fincher. He served in the U.S. Army stationed in Aschaffenburg, Germany. Doc worked in oil field services for over 50 years. He loved dancing, going to the horse races, bowling, and all sports.

He is survived by five children: Marsha Stone of Como, Cindy Mathews of Ruidoso, NM, Rocky Free of Lubbock, Dawn Harp of Honolulu, HI, Mackey Murdoch of Austin; thirteen grandchildren; twenty one greatgrandchildren; along with five siblings: Violet Porter of Odessa, Truman Murdoch of Morton, Janelle Senne of Bracketville, Maurine Murdoch of Lubbock, and Charlie Murdoch of Jayton.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 13, 2020 for a graveside service at the Andrews North Cemetery with Chaplain Donnie Rollie officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Friday, June 12, 2020 at McNett Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Andrews Senior Citizens Center or Home Hospice Andrews.
