Kathy Joyce Williamson

Kathy Joyce Williamson was peacefully called home to walk with the Lord on January 11, 2021.

Kathy was born Katherine Joyce Hicks to Roy and Bessie Hicks in Poyen, Arkansas on August 20, 1945. After high school, she moved to Coleman, Texas where she met and soon married James Williamson. She traveled the country with James and later planted her roots in Midland, Texas.

She is preceded in death by the kids’ daddy, James Williamson, her parents Roy and Bessie Hicks, her brother John Hicks and sisters Juanita Hicks, Wilma Mills and Coralee Harris.

Kathy is survived by her two children, Susan Hilliard (Darrell) and David Williamson whom she took abundant pride in; her grandchildren Heather, Dalton, Savannah and Ainslee and great grandchildren Reagan and Mason, as well as her sistersin-law Jearldean Cagle and Norma Sweek, and many nieces and nephews. There is nothing in this world she loved more than her kids, being “Nanny” and her silly little dog, Popcorn.

Kathy was a beautiful woman with a heart of gold. She scattered kindness and served the Lord in everything she did. She often said, “God loves you and so do I!” She lived each day to the fullest and always reminded her loved ones that every day was a Gift from God. She’s now breaking in those wings that she has definitely earned - Oh how lucky she is!

In lieu of flowers, Kathy asked that a donation be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her honor.
