Armando E. Hernandez

Armando E. Hernandez, 73, of Andrews, Texas passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021 in Andrews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Primera Iglesia Bautista Church. Interment will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM at McNett Funeral Home and 1:30 – 5:30 PM at the church. Arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.

Armando was born on October 30, 1947 in Sanderson, Texas to Jose Salmon Hernandez and Lorenza Escudero. He married Maria Inez Guerrero on October 10, 1966 in Hereford, Texas. He was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista Church. Armando worked in the oilfield industry for 30+ years and continued to work until the day he passed. Armando was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His favorite past time was making memories with his family such as traveling to sporting events or grabbing dipped cones with his great-grandchildren. Armando was a wonder with computer technology and jumped at the opportunity to help a friend or family member in need. He will be greatly missed by family, friends and all those that had the honor of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Armando is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Hernandez of Andrews, Texas, children: Myra Cornejo and husband Kelly of Andrews, Texas; Michael Hernandez and wife Leesa of Andrews, Texas; Lora Palacios and husband Juan of Andrews, Texas; Lorraine Moore and husband Darren of Andrews, Texas; and Mundy Hernandez and wife Kaylynn of Midland, Texas. Surviving siblings include Ray Hernandez of Hereford, Texas, Joe Hernandez, Jr. of Lubbock, Texas, Anita Tijerina and husband Hector of Lubbock, Texas and Alice Cantu and husband Ruben of Frisco, Texas. Armando was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 8 greatgrandchildren, as well as a new one on the way.
