Wanda Watkins Dye
Wanda Watkins Dye, 79, of Leander passed away on June 11, 2021 after a lengthy illness. She was born on May 14, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas to the late W. Benton and Edith Hendrix Watkins.
Wanda was a 1960 graduate of Sam Houston High School in San Antonio where she was a majorette in the Cherokee Band. She married the late Charles E. Dye on June 3, 1961 and together they raised their two sons in San Antonio, Houston, Libya, New Orleans and Andrews.
Ms. Dye worked for Andrews ISD and Porter’s Thriftway for many years before her retirement from Austin ISD in 2004. She also worked for HEB in Austin for 16 years where she was recognized for her dedication to excellence and customer service.
Wanda was a member of Andrews Presbyterian, First Presbyterian and Round Rock Presbyterian Churches where she served as a church elder. She was a person of strong Christian faith which sustained her throughout her life.
Wanda is survived by her son William, his wife Julie, and their daughter Emma Dye, all of Georgetown as well as her son Chadwick, his wife Kim, and their children Cooper and Kourtney Dye, also of Georgetown.
Wanda was a beloved Daughter, Mother and Grandmother and will be dearly missed.
Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 18, 2021 under the direction of Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Leander with graveside services to follow at the Hendrix Family Cemetery in Red Rock, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children or to the charity of your choice.
