Leo Charles Osterhout, 100, of Andrews, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021, in Austin, Texas.

Family and Friends will gather to celebrate his life at 10:00AM, Saturday, November 6, 2021, at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Bobby Legget officiating. Interment will follow at the Andrews North Cemetery. Viewing and visitation was held on both Thursday, November 4, 2021, and Wednesday, November 5, 2021, from 2:00PM – 6:00PM in the McNett Funeral home Chapel. Arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.

He was a good husband, great father, good grandfather, wonderful great grandfather, good citizen. Born to John G. Osterhout and wife Pauline September 17, 1921. He was married to the only love of his life Hazel Esther Enders Oct. 12, 1946. Leo enlisted in the navy December 1941 and was discharged in December 1945, later he was called back to the navy and served another five years in Korea from June of 1947 and later discharged in June of 1952. Leo and his wife came to Andrews, Texas in 1952 to open Magneto Service & Supply which was family owned and operated for 63 years. He was a little league baseball & coach, a member of the First Christian Church, a bowler in several leagues, and an avid runner who outran any high schooler who challenged him to a race. He was also a member of the hospital fitness and rehab club for many years, and NordicTracked and swam to stay fit.

He was preceded in death by both parents, a brother George Osterhout, sister Mary Vandolah, his wife Hazel Esther Osterhout, and son Jimmy Gale Osterhout.

Leo is survived by his son Danny L. Osterhout & wife Julie of Blanco; Daughter Susan J. Spears & husband Bob of Midland, Texas; Grandchildren Charles Hotchkin & wife Kendra of Waring; Sara Spears of Austin, Texas; Brian Jeffreys of San Antonio, Texas; Mandy McWilliams & husband Austin McWilliams of Austin, Texas; Emily Nelson & husband Danny of Frisco; Great-grandchildren Alexis, Ainsley, Rory & Riley Hotchkin, Emma Nelson, Jeffrey & Presley McWilliams.

The family also thanks ownership & staff of Henry House of Blanco, Texas, & the doctors and staff at St. Davids South of Austin for their compassion and grace while caring for our beloved Leo.
