Jackie Dean Parnell,70, of Andrews, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021, in Andrews, Texas.
Family and friends gathered to celebrate his life with a graveside service at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at the Andrews Old Cemetery with Courtney Ballard officiating. Pallbearers included Kenneth Mitchell Jr., Kenneth Mitchell Sr., Daniel Davenport, Blake Watkins, Kelly Watkins, Cody Murdock, and Jay Winn. Honorary Pallbearers will include Zairian Weathers, and Billy Davenport, Colton Winn, and Case Winn. Arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.
Jackie was born on November 4, 1951, in Guymon, Oklahoma to Awbrey Parnell and Elizabeth “Bloodworth” Parnell. He Married Karen “Davenport” Parnell June 27, 1991, in Odessa, Texas and they spent 30 wonderful years together.
He was a man who was full of life, very outgoing and was known to be a big jokester. During his high school years Jackie was a member of a band named ‘Madisons’ in which he played the guitar. His grandchildren were his world. He was an auctioneer for many years and had a great passion for it. Jackie was known as a very charitable person, every year he would seek out a person or family in need and anonymously write them a check. He also served as a deacon at the Odessa Tabernacle.
He was preceded in death by his parents Awbrey and Elizabeth Parnell.
He is survived by his wife Karen Parnell of Andrews, Texas; Siblings Gary Parnell of Houston, Texas and Charlotte Ray and Husband Bobby of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Children Brandon Parnell; Landon Parnell and wife Jessica Parnell of San Antonio, Texas, Harold Murdock and wife Cindy of Burkburnett, Texas, and Kimberly Elam of Andrew, Texas, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
