Carl Stanley Ham Jr. -“Buddy” - was called home to be with our Lord on November 28, 2021. On that day all of Heaven was celebrating as God certainly spoke to him and said “well done my good and faithful servant.”.

The world was blessed to receive the gift of Buddy on February 12, 1936 in Midland, TX. and he spent his youth prior to entering Andrews High School between McCamey, Midland and Wink Texas. Buddy graduated from Andrews High School in June of 1954 and then enrolled in college. He spent his summers working for his father in Andrews on a well servicing unit and spending time with his high school sweetheart Marlene Moore. They married on June 29, 1956 and then moved to Lubbock where he was enrolled at Texas Tech University. Six months later they moved to Crane, TX where Buddy again worked for his fathers’ well servicing business. On May 1, 1957 in Odessa, TX they brought their first born son, Carl Stanley Ham III into this world.

In 1958, shortly after the birth of their son “Stan”, Buddy moved his family back home to Andrews, TX and two years later, on September 7, 1960, Bradley Dwain was born. Buddy spent his next three years living in Kermit, TX during which time his daughter Vicky Lynn was born on August 2, 1964 and then returned to Andrews two years later. On May 18, 1966 Buddy and Marlene blessed the world with their youngest son Steven Gregory in Andrews, TX.

Buddy spent most of his career working for his father in the well servicing business where he eventually succeeded him until the business was sold. He then felt honored and privileged to spend nearly 8 years working for Southwest Airlines as a reservations and ticket agent. Throughout his career, his heart to serve others was clear and endeared him to those he worked with and for.

Buddy lived his life as large as his love for God. God gives us all a unique and divine fingerprint and Buddy left his fingerprints everywhere on many peoples lives. Buddy never met a stranger, nor did he ever turn away from an opportunity to help someone out. Truly he walked out obedience to God by loving his neighbor. As the patriarch of his family, Buddy was a provider and protector who led and taught by his example. Buddy walked out integrity without compromise and leaves a legacy that reflects as much. As a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather he filled his life with bronc riding, piloting, golf, reading, and watching old westerns. His love of jokes and story-telling was second to none as he took great pleasure in making people laugh and sharing the stories of his amazing life.

Buddy is preceded in death by his father Carl S. Ham, mother Pauline Ham, step-mother Kathryn Ham, sister Shirley Johnson, step-brother Mike Foster, and son Carl Stanely Ham III.

Carl “Buddy” Ham is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Marlene, his son Brad and his wife Janet, his daughter Vicky Smith and her husband Bill, his son Greg as well as his daughter Jill Bagwell and her husband Dee. He is also survived by his four grandchildren Carl Stanley Ham IV (Quatro) and his fiancé Samantha, Ashley Daniels and her husband Trevor, Michael and Matthew Smith and two great-grandchildren Brynlee Brooke and Barrett Stanley Daniels.

A private celebration of Buddy’s life will be held for family and friends at a later date.
