Juan Silvestre Jimenez, 81, of Andrews, Passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2021, in Odessa, Texas.
Family and friends gathered to celebrate his life at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 2, 2021, at La Nueva Jerusalem Church in Andrews Texas with Pastor Isai Garcia and Pastor Tony Cruz officiating. Interment followed at the Andrews North Cemetery. Viewing and visitation was held from 6:00PM – 8:00PM on Tuesday March 1, 2021, at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews, Texas. Arrangements are under the personal care of McNett funeral home.
Juan was born on June 27, 1940, in Veracruz, Mexico to Bartolo Jimenez and Eualia Silvestre. He then went on to marry Virginia Jimenez in Lamesa, Texas on January 12, 1979. He worked as a Derrick hand in the Oilfield in Lamesa, Texas for many years and in the early 90s relocated to Andrews, Texas to then spend the rest of his years with his family. Juan loved to garden often along with teaching his grandkids the traits of his green thumb, read his bible, and very much enjoyed his Christian music. He loved spending time with his family, and also spent his time ministering to inmates at local county jails. He loved to cook, especially any kind of spicy foods and loved to tend to his animals working on the ranch. He will be missed by many.
Juan was preceded in death by his Parents, His daughter Alma Gonzales; His son Antonio Jimenez; His 3 brothers Eustaquio Jimenez; Fortino Jimenez and Lorenzo Jimenez and his sister Reyna Jimenez.
He is survived by his wife Virginia Jimenez of Andrews, Texas; His Brothers Rogelio Jimenez and wife Juana of Mexico and Francisco Jimenez of Mexico; His sisters Elvira Jimenez of Mexico and Angelina Jimenez of Mexico; His sons Juan A. Jimenez and wife Veronica of Andrews, Texas; Daughters Janie Jimenez of Andrews, Texas; Jessica Ochoa of Andrews, Texas, Erika Aubrey and husband Dylan of Andrews, Texas; Florencia Jimenez and husband Jesus of Mexico; Gudelia Jimenez and husband Filogonio of Mexico; and Inez Jimenez and husband Liborio of Mexico.
