Dela Jean Greenway

Dela Jean Greenway, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the forever young age of 55.

Dela was born in Artesia, NM on April 14, 1966 and graduated high school from Lovington, NM. Dela furthered her professional career in cosmetology. She loved any opportunity to cut and style the family’s hair, Marty, Josh, Kyle, Jax, Krissy, Rylee and Megan’s among others…. even if she did take 45 minutes on each cut, we were happy to share in her laughter and save the $15 dollars. Even though Megan, her daughter-in-law may have had some seriously yellow hair at one time, we, including Dela, sure all got some laughs out of it.

Talk about passion for her loved ones, she had a huge passion for her dogs, but an even bigger passion for her grandbabies. No matter where life’s journey took her, the tremendous love she had for her grandchildren is a light that will never fade.

Dela was quite the water bug, and always loved to be around water, or in it, she loved to walk the beaches by the coast and float the South Llano River in Junction, TX. Some of our fondest memories are the Hamilton Creek in the backyard of our old house. She swore up and down, that every single rock she picked up, were an ancient Indian artifact. Her gullible personality allowed for some of the best jokes, but ultimately, she was the biggest jokester. No matter what the situation was, she always seemed to have everyone around laughing and happy, she is forever a shining light.

She is loved and cherished by many people, including her spouse, Marty Gooch, her sons’, Josh and Kyle Greenway (Krstine and Megan); her beautiful granddaughters, Dallyn, Rylee and Josey Greenway, and her one and only grandson, ‘Michael’ Jaxon Greenway. Dela is also survived by her mother, Nelda Gray, her siblings, Janice Parker, Jack (Teresa) Donaghey and Karla (Carl) Barnes. She also leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends, including her fur baby, Stitch.

She is preceded in death by, her father, Jack Donaghey and grandparents, Minnie and Earl Gray and her biggest love, Spanky.

A note from your loved ones: You will never be defined by death, because you were, love, laughter, creativity, joy, excitement and life. “Give rest, O Christ, to your servant with your saints, where sorrow and pain are no more, neither sighing, but life everlasting.”

A Celebration of Life is scheduled March 19, 2022, at 12 p.m. in Llano, TX. Robinson Park, 123 Robinson Park Drive, Llano, Tx 78643
