Jo Nell Barton, 95, of Andrews Texas passed from this life Friday, March 3, 2023, surrounded by her family in Andrews, Texas.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 2PM Thursday, March 9, 2023, at the Andrews County North Cemetery in Andrews, TX. A visitation will be held 6:00PM-8:00 PM Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at McNett Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.

Nell was born September 26, 1927, in Harrison County, TX to William Simmons and Kitty Riden. She married Rex Barton December 1, 1945, in Marshall TX and they spent 67 amazing years together until his passing in 2012. Her family was always her whole world, she loved to have her grandchildren around every chance she had. Nell always kept a neat yard she loved to be outside planting and gardening. She also enjoyed doing puzzle and watching TV. Nell had a soft spot in her heart for animals. She was a loving mother, grandmother great grandmother and great-great grandmother she will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her son: Don Barton and wife Daisy of Andrews, TX; daughter: Kay Nguyen and husband Quoc of Kingsland, TX; grandchildren: Carl Barton; Kevin Barton and wife Ashley; Wendy LaFoe and husband Charles; and Scott Coley and wife Stephanie; 10 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Nell is preceded in death by her husband: Rex Barton; parents: William and Kitty Simmons; brothers: C.C. Simmons; Archie Simmons; and Jack Simmons; and sisters: Pauline Zausner; Annie Jones; and Mary Younger.
