Rosa Cecilia Gonzales

Rosa Cecilia Gonzales, age 66, of Andrews Texas, passed from this life Friday, September 22, 2023, in Odessa, Texas.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 2:00PM, Friday, September 29, 2023, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews, TX, with Father Joseph Ogbonna officiating. Visitation was held Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 4:00PM-9:00PM at Mc-Nett Funeral Home with a Rosary from 5:00PM6:00PM. Arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.

Rosa was born July 11, 1957, in Clovis, NM, to Eutemio Gonzales and Maria Tarango. Rosa was one of 13 children who were raised as farmers. For most of Rosa’s childhood she worked on the farm in Burlington, Colorado. Rosa had a passion for music. She learned how to play the guitar at a young age by watching her brother play. She believed music was a way of connecting with people. She always had great faith and loved being a part of the church choir. She was in the choir at Our Lady of Lourdes for over 20 years. Rosa also had a deep love for family. She always enjoyed going to all the family events. Later in life she would meet the love of her life Diana Ortiz, and would marry her November 6, 2021, in Andrews, TX. Rosa always loved being retired and loved the fact that she could retire. She was a woman of many talents and ambitions she will be dearly missed by many.

She is survived by her wife: Diana Ortiz of Andrews, TX; brothers: Jose Luis Gonzales and wife Jean; Alfredo Gonzales and wife Toni; Damacio Gonzales and wife Gloria; Ishmael Gonzales and wife Guadalupe and Hector Gonzales and wife Martha; sisters: Maria Elena Carrasco; Yolanda Martinez and husband Sonny; and Tereasa Gonzalez and wife Jesicia all of Andrews, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosa is preceded in death by her parents: Eutemio and Maria Gonzales; 3 sisters: Jovita Pando; Maria Neives Sanchez; and Juana Rangel; and brother: Martin Gonzales.
