Johnnie O. Guelker

Johnnie O. Guelker 94, of Abilene formerly of Andrews passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Lyndale Senior Living. Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 21, 2024 at Roby Cemetery. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. A visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at the funeral home.

Johnnie was born March 19, 1930 in Busby, TX to the late Henry and Madie (Gehring) Guelker. He married LaNell Terry on August 24, 1954 in Longworth, TX.

Johnnie was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He worked many years in the Oilfield. Johnnie was an avid golfer, and his second love was fishing. He enjoyed being out on the lake for many hours at a time. Johnnie and LaNell also spent time with friends playing cards at the Country Club and playing slots in Hobbs and Laughlin, Nevada.

Johnnie is survived by his sons, Johnnie F. Guelker and wife Cindy of Amarillo, Texas and Eddie Guelker and wife Martha of Tuscola, Texas, 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Grant Wayne Guelker.
