Elena Romo
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elena Romo, our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, on November 10, 2024, at the age of 98. Elena Romo was born on August 10, 1926, in Madera Chihuahua Mexico, to Calixto Rivera and Paula Licano.
Elena married Edmundo Romo on March 3rd. Elena was known for always wanting to help everyone especially her family. The greatest accomplishment Elena had was the love and support she had for her family. She was referred as an Angel on Earth throughout her entire life. She was a devout member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews Texas. Where she lived the majority of her life. Later in life she moved to Oklahoma where she traded her earthly wings for heavenly wings.
Elena worked as a secretary in Mexico. Once Elena migrated to the United States she worked with her husband at their local businesses. Elena then was a housewife and mother to 6 sons and 2 daughters. Later, Elena kept her grandkids. Elena’s family was her passion.
Elena’s love for her family and people led her to invest in her family and friends.
Humble, sweet, funny, smart and good-hearted were Elena’s qualities.
Elena instilled Gods word in her children, her loved ones find comfort in that Gods promises are clear, and they will see her again, because of Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
The foundation of Elena’s life was invested in the people she loved. Gatherings at her house were like Christmas regularly. Her hospitality was unmatched, always had “Pan dulce” and homemade meals to offer anyone who visited her house.
Christmas was magical at Elenas house, people laughed, played games, ate lots of homemade food and had great memories. For Thanksgiving Elenas started preparation days before. Her secret recipe stuffing was her designer dish.
The gifts at Christmas were the memories made that last a lifetime at Elena’ s house.
Elena’s life was full of love and self-sacrifice for those she loved. Her legacy will live on by the people who knew her and her family that loved her.
Preceded in joining the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ were her: Mother & Father, her first born son, Edmundo Romo Jr, Her brothers and sisters. and her husband, Edmundo Romo.
Elena was an angel on earth and now whole with Jesus Christ.
Survived by Five sons, Miguel A Romo who has five children and thirteen Grandkids, Adolfo Romo who has three kids and two grandchildren, Ray Romo and his wife Norma Romo who have two children and two grandchildren. Oscar Romo and his wife Olga Romo who have three children and three grandchildren, Freddy Romo, Laura Selby who has one child and four grandchildren, Zulema Prieto and her husband Marcelino who have three children and two grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews, and a Caregiver, Rosy Barrios Deleon.
