Joyce Carter Wagner, a cherished wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at her home in Andrews, Texas, on December 14, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on January 28, 1935, in San Augustine, Texas to Albert Carter and Jessie Cummings Carter. Joyce’s younger years were marked with hardships and heartache with the passing of her mother. She was shuffled between relatives. When she was 12, she found her forever home with her Uncle Elijah and Aunt Margaret Carter. These hardships shaped her into a very independent woman, with a very compassionate heart of service.
